The Ecovalor Program aims to promote good environmental practices in educational establishments throughout the country by rewarding those that demonstrate the best performance in recycling their used packaging.
What it promotes:
It promotes environmental AWARENESS actions, VISITS TO the facilities of the concessionaires, the RECYCLE AND WIN contest that gives prizes, and a partnership with the ESCOLA ELECTRÃO.
Registration usually takes place at the beginning of the school year, but deadlines may vary between companies. To find out the specific deadline for the company covering your school's area, please consult the corresponding regulations, available below.
Awareness-raising activities are educational sessions focused on increasing awareness about the waste we produce and the good environmental practices we should adopt in our daily lives. These activities are planned to be adapted to different educational levels, ensuring that the content and dynamics are adjusted to the age and knowledge level of the participants.
During the sessions, topics such as waste separation, recycling, and waste reduction are addressed, with the aim of promoting more sustainable behaviors.
Visits to the concessionaires' facilities are for organized groups and require prior scheduling. Visit requests can be made through the Recycling Helpline, by calling the toll-free number 800 900 411, or by emailing atendimento@linhadareciclagem.pt.
Groups must travel by public transport to the facilities. During the visit, an explanation of the company's operation is given, including the processes for treating and recovering the waste received. Following this, a tour of the facilities is conducted, where it is possible to directly observe the operations and activities carried out.
The Recycle and Win contest is a competition between schools within the same municipality that encourages the separation of recyclable waste. Prizes are monetary and awarded based on the amount of recyclables collected.
The contest's operation may vary between companies. For more details on the specific mechanics, please consult the regulations of the company covering your school, available below.
All elementary and secondary schools, and universities, public or private, can join the program.

PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN "ESCOLA ELECTRÃO" AND "RECICLA E GANHA"
Participate in both projects, Escola Electrão and "Recicla e Ganha", it allows schools to carry out selective collection of packaging waste, electrical and electronic equipment, and batteries, increasing their contribution to a better environment.
- One additional point will be awarded in the Escola Electrão action, contributing to the achievement of prizes in this initiative, to schools that participate in the Recycle and Win program of the 2024/2025 school year with the minimum quantity to receive a cash prize, in at least one of the streams (plastic/metal, paper/cardboard and glass).

- The partnership is valid for schools in the 174 municipalities within the EGF coverage area. Schools that do not belong to the granted area should contact the Escola Electrão team for more information.
